If you’re headed to NeoCon this year, the show got a little more fun! DesignerPages.com and MMPI are teaming up in 2011 to produce The Game @ NeoCon. For three days, the Merchandise Mart will be the game board, while exhibitors will be the spaces players (attendees) move through. In The Game, attendees ditch the dice and use the Showrooms App (for iPhone or Android) instead, which leads them on their journeys through the Mart. As a chiropractor/physical therapist friend recently reminded me (somewhat too cheerfully, albeit), “lack of motion equals death.” He was referring to the phenomenon called “creep,” whereby stationary ligaments loose their elasticity and eventually become incapable of the resiliency needed to support active, dynamic motion. Someone at Steelcase’s Details subsidiary must be clued into this unfortunate bodily consequence as well, for the new Airtouch series of height-adjustable work surfaces is specifically geared to make us less sedentary at work.
